NORWICH – The Norwich YMCA is offering a fitness program this fall to help individuals looking to lose weight, change their bodies, and get fit.
According to YMCA program coordinators, the Y's Fit for Fall is a 10 week fitness and nutrition challenge to get participants real and lasting results. This program is individualized to meet the needs of anyone of any age or ability.
Individual informational meetings, sign ups and registration is going on now through September 15th We will start with a practice week to make sure everyone understands how to do it and then the 10 week challenge will start after that.
Officials said the challenge for every participant is to fill out weekly score sheets that track their activity/exercise as well as their dietary choices. All activity has a point value attached to it and a point system is also used to help participants eat optimally. The more points a participant gets each week indicates their progress towards a healthier lifestyle.
Shannon Gawronski, the health and fitness director at the YMCA, said by using this program, you will get real results, and after ten weeks, eating well and being more active will be more of a habit or a new way of life for you, and hopefully you will continue to do so after the challenge ends.
